02 Privacy policy
1. Controller
Nikolai Ertelt, trading as rlt_collection / ertelt.xyz, Berliner Straße 74, 13189 Berlin, Germany · email: info@rltcollection.de. We are not required to appoint a data protection officer.
2. Our principle: only what is needed
We only process the personal data we need to run the shop, fulfil your order, answer your messages and — only if you ask for it — send you our newsletter. We do not sell your data. We do not use advertising or tracking tools that you have not consented to.
3. Hosting and shop system (Shopify)
Our shop runs on Shopify. For merchants in Europe the contracting party is Shopify International Limited, Victoria Buildings, 2nd Floor, 1-2 Haddington Road, Dublin 4, D04 XN32, Ireland. Shopify stores and processes the data you enter in the shop (e.g. order, account and contact form data) and technical access data (e.g. IP address, browser, pages visited, date and time) on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Data may also be processed by Shopify Inc. in Canada (adequacy decision of the EU Commission) and in the USA and other countries; such transfers are based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of contract) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in a secure and working online shop). Fonts and videos are also delivered by Shopify's own servers; we do not load fonts from Google.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to provide the shop you request, e.g. for the shopping cart, checkout, security and to remember your cookie choice (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG; Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). All other cookies and technologies (e.g. analytics or marketing) are only used if you consent in our cookie banner (§ 25 (1) TDDDG; Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). The only optional technology on this site is Shopify's own analytics, which measures visits and sales in aggregate; it runs only if you allow "analytics" in the banner. There are no third-party advertising pixels, no embedded videos from external platforms and no social media plug-ins. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via "cookie settings" in the cookies section of our legal page, linked in the footer of every page. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal. Details of each category are in the cookies section of the legal page.
5. Orders and customer accounts
When you order, we process your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number (if provided), order details and payment information in order to conclude and fulfil the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). If you create a customer account, we store your data there until you delete the account. Invoices and order records are kept for the statutory retention periods under German commercial and tax law (currently up to 10 years; Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR); other order data is deleted when it is no longer needed.
6. Payment
Payment is handled by the payment provider you select in the checkout (e.g. Shopify Payments, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay or credit card providers). We pass on the data required for the payment (e.g. name, amount, order number). The payment provider may also carry out its own checks, e.g. to prevent fraud, under its own privacy policy. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.
7. Shipping (DHL)
To deliver your order we pass your name and shipping address to DHL Paket GmbH, Sträßchensweg 10, 53113 Bonn, Germany (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We only pass on your email address or phone number to DHL for delivery notifications if you have given your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future.
8. Address check and documents
To avoid failed deliveries, the address you enter in the checkout is checked for typing errors by the app AddressHero (HeroSoftware GmbH, Germany) (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Invoices and packing slips are created with the Shopify app Order Printer Pro (Shop Circle Ltd, One Kingdom Street, London W2 6BD, United Kingdom); transfers to the UK are based on the EU Commission's adequacy decision. Both act on our behalf.
9. Contact form and email
If you contact us via the contact form or by email, we process your name, email address and message to answer your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if it relates to a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The contact form is processed via Shopify. We delete the data once your enquiry has been fully dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
10. Newsletter (Klaviyo)
If you subscribe to our newsletter via the form on this site, we use your email address to send you information about new pieces. The sign-up form is processed by Shopify; your address is then passed to Klaviyo, which sends the emails. Legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). We use the double opt-in procedure: you will receive an email asking you to confirm your subscription, and you will only be added to the list after you confirm. We log the time of sign-up and confirmation and the IP address to be able to prove your consent (Art. 6(1)(c) and (f) GDPR).
The newsletter is sent via Klaviyo, Inc., 125 Summer Street, Boston, MA 02110, USA, which processes the data on our behalf. Data is transferred to the USA on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and/or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Klaviyo can show us whether an email was opened and which links were clicked; this is part of the newsletter you consented to. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email or by writing to us; we then delete your email address from the list (or block it, if you ask us not to contact you again).
11. Links to social networks
Our website only contains simple links to Instagram and TikTok. No data is transferred to these networks until you click a link.
12. Your rights
You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)).
Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): where we process data on the basis of our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you have the right to object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. You can object to the use of your data for direct marketing at any time without giving reasons.
To exercise your rights, simply write to info@rltcollection.de. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, e.g. the one responsible for us: Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany.
13. Automated decisions
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
14. Changes
We update this policy when our processing changes. The current version is always available on this page.
03 Cookies
This site uses as few cookies as possible. Essential ones make the shop work and need no consent (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). Everything else only runs if you allow it in the cookie banner (§ 25 (1) TDDDG; Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Essential — always on
Shopping cart, checkout, currency and language, security and fraud prevention, and remembering your cookie choice. They are set by Shopify, our shop system, for example cart, cart_currency, localization and _tracking_consent. Legal basis: § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG; Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.
Analytics — only with your consent
Shopify's own statistics about visits and sales, in aggregate. There is no third-party analytics on this site — no Google Analytics, no Hotjar, nothing similar.
Marketing — only with your consent
No third-party advertising pixels are installed: no Meta, Google Ads, TikTok or Pinterest tags. If you allow marketing, Shopify may use it to measure its own sales channels, such as the Shop app.
Not on this site
No Google Fonts, no embedded YouTube or Vimeo videos, no social media plug-ins and no third-party chat. Fonts, images and the background video are delivered from Shopify's servers. Links to Instagram and TikTok are plain links — nothing is transferred until you click one.
Change your mind
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the cookie settings button below, or delete cookies in your browser. Withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before it. Shopify's full list of cookies is at shopify.com/legal/cookies.
04 Terms and conditions
1. Scope
These terms apply to all contracts concluded via the online shop ertelt.xyz between Nikolai Ertelt, trading as rlt_collection / ertelt.xyz, Berliner Straße 74, 13189 Berlin, Germany ("we", "us") and our customers ("you"). Deviating terms of the customer do not apply unless we expressly agree to them.
2. Conclusion of the contract
The presentation of products in the shop is not a legally binding offer but an invitation to place an order.
You can select products and a size and add them to the cart. In the checkout you enter your details and choose a shipping and payment method. Before you submit the order you can review all details and correct input errors using the usual keyboard and mouse functions or the "back" links. By clicking the "Pay now" button you submit a binding offer to buy the goods in the cart.
We confirm receipt of your order by email immediately after you place it. The contract is concluded when we accept your offer, by a declaration of acceptance by email (order or shipping confirmation) within 2 days of your order. If we do not accept within this period, you are no longer bound by your offer. If you choose a payment method for which the payment is processed immediately when the order is placed (e.g. PayPal, credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay), the contract is concluded at the moment the payment is processed.
The contract language is English. We store the contract text, but it is not accessible to you after the order apart from your customer account (if you have one) and the order confirmation email, which contains the order details. You can view these terms at any time on this page.
3. Prices and shipping costs
All prices are final prices. As a small business under § 19 UStG we do not charge VAT.
Shipping costs are stated in our shipping policy and in the checkout. Shipping within the EU is free. For deliveries outside the EU, customs duties, import taxes and clearance fees may be charged by the destination country and are paid by the recipient.
4. Payment
The available payment methods are shown in the checkout. Payment is due when the order is placed unless the checkout states otherwise.
5. Delivery
All pieces are made to order. The delivery time is stated on the product page and in our shipping policy (approx. 14 days unless stated otherwise).
If you are a consumer, the risk of accidental loss or deterioration of the goods passes to you only when the goods are handed over to you.
6. Retention of title
The goods remain our property until full payment has been made.
7. Right of withdrawal
Consumers have a statutory right of withdrawal. Details, including the model withdrawal form and the exception for commissions, are in our cancellation policy.
8. Warranty
The statutory warranty rights (gesetzliche Mängelhaftung) apply. Each piece is cast individually and finished by hand; slight variations in surface and shape that are typical of handmade jewellery are normal characteristics of the product. Your statutory warranty rights remain unaffected.
9. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the Product Liability Act and to the extent we have given a guarantee.
For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of an essential contractual obligation (an obligation whose fulfilment makes proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose fulfilment you may regularly rely), limited to the damage that is foreseeable and typical for this type of contract.
The statutory warranty rights remain unaffected.
10. Commissions
Commissions (pieces designed individually to your specifications) are agreed individually by email. We will confirm the design, price, deposit and delivery time with you in writing before production starts. Because commissions are made to your specifications, the statutory right of withdrawal does not apply to them (§ 312g (2) no. 1 BGB).
11. Dispute resolution
We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
12. Applicable law
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). If you are a consumer with your habitual residence in another country, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of the law of that country.

05 Cancellation policy
Consumers have a statutory right of withdrawal as set out below. A consumer is any natural person who enters into a legal transaction for purposes that are predominantly outside their trade, business or profession.
Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after fourteen days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the goods. If you ordered several goods in one order and they are delivered separately, the period expires fourteen days after the day on which you, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you, acquire physical possession of the last goods.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us (Nikolai Ertelt, rlt_collection / ertelt.xyz, Berliner Straße 74, 13189 Berlin, Germany, email: info@rltcollection.de) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or an email). You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (with the exception of the supplementary costs resulting from your choice of a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and in any event not later than fourteen days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to us without undue delay and in any event not later than fourteen days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of fourteen days has expired. Please send them to: Nikolai Ertelt, Berliner Straße 74, 13189 Berlin, Germany.
You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods.
You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Exclusion of the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to contracts for the supply of goods which are not prefabricated and for the production of which an individual selection or determination by the consumer is decisive, or which are clearly tailored to the personal needs of the consumer (§ 312g (2) no. 1 BGB). This applies to commissions — pieces designed individually to your own specifications. It does not apply to rings from the collection ordered in one of the listed sizes: for those, the right of withdrawal described above applies in full.
Model withdrawal form
